Butler Repudiates Allegations on Super Bowl LII Benching 2018

The star player of Super Bowl, Malcolm Butler has been put on bench this season in Super Bowl 2018. New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler has repudiated the allegations against him for LII benching in the game against Philadelphia Eagles. He has been a part of nearly 98% of the defensive snaps played by Patriots during the regular Season. During his past record, he displayed twelve pass deflections, two interceptions, and three forced fumbles to earn him the badge of Super Bowl Hero.

Earlier, it was quite a shock for Patriots fans to discover the controversial decision of New England patriots coach Bill Belichick. It was Belichick known as the frontrunner in taking up this decision. Butler had earlier been demoted in practice session leading to the game. Belichick later came up with an explanation of rejecting disciplinary reasons for benching Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler. He rather said on NBC’s broadcast, “I made the decisions that give us the best chance to win.”

Sources earlier confirmed ESPN that Butler’s role would have diminished the score difference of 41-33 leading to the loss of New England Patriots. Butler went on to tweet on Twitter.

During my four year career [with] the Patriots I have always given it everything I have to play at a high level, and would never do anything to hurt my teams’ chances of winning a game, including this year’s Super Bowl where I visited with my family every night,” he wrote.

“During Super Bowl week I never attended any concert, missed curfew, or participated [in] any of the ridiculous activities being reported. They are not only false, but hurtful, to me and my family. Although I wish I could have contributed more to help my team win, I have to get ready for the next opportunity. Moving forward I will do what I have always done to work hard, and prepare for next season to be the best I can be on and off the field.”
