Used GPU Market Gets Flooded with Nvidia’s RTX 2080 TiCards Immediately after RTX 3000 Announcement, High-End Turing Prices Could Drop to Around $300

It has been considered that the high-end Turing cards should be selling for around $300 tops in used condition, if the RTX 3080 priced at $699 is 70-80% faster than the RTX 2080 Ti.

As the lowest prices in EU, the brand-new RTX 2080 Ti cards are selling for 450 Euro, while in the US, they are hovering around $550. Nevertheless, the race to the bottom is still on.

This year’s September and October, Nvidia’s high end RTX 3000 gaming GPUs are finally releasing and the team green fans are excited over those huge CUDA core counts plus improved RT cores that seem to net at least 70% improved performance over Turing cards.

But, are all the Nvidia fans really in joy right now?

Why not RTX 3060 should be ruled out from the place? As always, these are expected to launch later; however, Nvidia might launch them earlier than usual this year as it probably wants to have competitive products to match all AMD’s upcoming RDNA2 cards.

Moreover, all of its AIB partners are likely to slash prices on all the Turing cards still in stock that Nvidia will surely instruct, which will be letting these older cards fill in the spot for lower-end Ampere cards before the RTX 3060 and the RTX 3050 get a proper launch.

Priced at $499, the RTX 3070, which is expected to have similar performance as compared to the RTX 2080 Ti on the raster side, is greatly faster in ray traced content, so $300 or even lower for the top Turing cards in used condition is really not that far-fetched.

Not surprisingly why many RTX 2080 TI owners are now rushing towards Amazon and eBay to sell their cards. At around $550, this is the lowest price on US ebay for a used RTX 2080 Ti, while at the same time, prices in Europe already plunged to 465 Euro for a brand-new card.

The prices of the used Turing cards should be probably at around $300, knowing that the RTX 3080 is going to cost $699 and is expected to be around 70-80% faster than an RTX 2080 Ti in ray traced content.

The current owners of the RTX 2080 Ti probably don’t want the aggressive pricing on the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070.
