BJD and CPI also joined in the list on blaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his strict ways. Congress Party VP, Rahul Gandhi termed this ban on NDTV as “Shocking and unprecedented” while West Bengal Chief Minister said it as evocative of the emergency.

However, media biggies like the Editor’s Guide and the Broadcast Editor’s Association of India (BEA) also came forward to blast Government on NDTV Ban. They said that the decision to take one day ban on the channel was a direct disturb of the freedom of media.

She also questioned his muteness over the alliance agreement between BJP and PDP which tends them to talk with Pakistan and Hurriyat and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Pakistan surpass. This kind of open opposition is unusual in Indian media. But, Goswami encouraged argumentative declarations in recent course of the year. Times-now editor is blaming all criticism by them in the name ‘professional jealousy’ someone who is unable to tolerate the success of TimesNow.

Barkha mentioned her antipathy against the media’s silence on Goswami calling then ISI agents. “Imagine, a journalist actually exhorts the government to shut down sections of the media, misrepresents them as ISI agents and terror sympathisers, calls for them to be tried and acted against. And our fraternity remains locked into politically correct and timid silence,” wrote Barkha.

“Times Now calls for gagging of media & for journalists to be tried & punished. Is this man journalist? I am ashamed to be from same industry as him. What’s striking is his brazen and cowardly hypocrisy. So he drones on and on about Pro-Pakistan Doves without one word on the JK alliance agreement that commits the BJP and PDP to talks with Pakistan and Hurriyat and is silent on Modi’s own Pakistan outreach- neither of which I object to- but since Arnab Goswami measures patriotism by such views why he is so silent on the government? Chamchagiri?” Barkha on a Facebook post.
