Snapchat has announced an all-new product known as Snap Minis. This will enable third party developers to work and open within Snapchat.We can expect Snap Minis to be fully functional with Android and iOS versions of Snapchat by mid-July

“Snap Minis are bite-sized utilities tailor-made for friends,” said Will Wu, Snap’s Director of product.

The new feature can be used within the main app i.e. Snapchat and can be used by different members of groups at the same time. You can expect a good number of Minis to be launched. One of them, Atom Tickets will allow the user to book tickets and also see the trailer and seat availability as well.

“You and your friend can find out what classes you have together,” Wu said. “Or find your next open time block to hang out.”

A Snap Mini developed by Saturn Technologies will let students compare and share the schedule of their classes using Snapchat.

Snap Minis is the reflection of the company’s efforts on collaborating with third party developers. Snapchat has earlier collaborated with third party developers for augmented reality features and for custom face filters that are out there in thousands. Minis uses the same technology Snap uses for games, Wu said.

We could just imagine the possibilities of feature that are on our way and this one surely looks like a good edition.
