Chinese smartphone maker, Gionee has launched two smartphones Marathon M6 and M6 plus at an event in Beijing, China. The manufacturer made the phone available in China from August 6 and set to sale in India later this August.
Similar to the previous handsets in marathon series, M6 and M6 plus equipped with large capacity batteries. Where Gionee Marathon M6 has a 5000mAh battery, M6 Plus has a 6020mAh battery. Excluding battery, both smartphones come with the same specifications. Comes with dual-SIM configurations, M6 plus features a 6 inch Full HD AMOLED display, whereas a 5.5-inch display is featured in M6.
“For 14 years, Gionee has been dedicated to smartphone manufacture. We value two things: technological innovation and consumer benefits. With these goals in mind, we were dedicating to transforming the smartphone into a ‘smile phone’ with our independent R&D capabilities. The Gionee M6 is the product of this goal and has outstanding performance via the breakthrough software and hardware which will make every consumer smile from their heart,” said William Lu, Gionee President.

The smartphones are powered by MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor, runs Amigo 3.2 OS based on Android Marshmallow 6.0. Phones sport a 4GB RAM and would be available in 2 variants 64GB and 128 GB with the support of microSD cards. Both the phones are provided with an encrypting data chip for personal data. However, this feature is available for the exclusive Chinese version. Other international models will just come with a privacy protection, fingerprint scanner and malware destruction.
On the camera font, Gionee M6 is equipped with an 8MP selfie camera at the front and Sony IMX258 sensor with LED flash at the rear. The device also supports 4G VoLTE, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, fingerprint scanner. Gionee’s own version of Fast charging option is enabled to the smartphones.

When it comes to the pricing, 64 GB Marathon M6 is badged at RMB 2,699 (Rs. 27,200 approx) whereas its 128 GB version is priced at RMB 2,899 (Rs. 29,200 approx). Marathon M6 Plus 64 GB has tagged a price of RMB 2,999 (Rs. 30,200 approx.) and 128 GB M6 Plus carries a price tag of RMB 3,199 (Rs. 32,300 approx.).
