40 Percent of Faculty Members are Vacant in IITs, Central Universities

Union HRD Minister (Human Resource Development) Prakash Javadekar announced that there are 40 percent vacancies of faculty members in both Central Universities and IITs. He said that the recruitment process needs to be done to bring out the qualified faculty members.

“We too can offer world class conveniences and infrastructure to the students here, but there are limitations. We do not have faculties. There are 40% vacant posts in the Central Universities and IITs,” the minister said.

He also added that “I have asked IIT councils to go abroad and contact our research students, who have gone there to seek further research and they too are ready to come back and serve the country.”

According to the reports, all the research students are ready to come back, but the only problem is that the conducting of recruitment process which is troublesome in IITs and Central Universities. But to bring highly qualified faculties the government needs to focus more on the recruitment process.

Talking about establishing 20-World Class Universities, Prakash Javadekar said, “We will not give them the title of world class. They will have to earn it with the kind of roadmap they plan to become the world class universities. The category of 10 private and ten public sector institutes will be issued soon.”

“We will improve our quality for our students and with that improved education, we will also bring other students froma all over the world,” Javadekar added. The UGC Chairman Prof. Ved Prakash, NAAC Director Prof. D.S Chauhan, Symbiosis International University Chancellor Dr Divya Yeravdekar and others were present for the meeting.

IIT JAM Admit Card 2017

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi published the notification of Joint Admission Test (JAM). Most of all candidates who interested to get admission in M.sc (four semesters) applied before the mentioned date. Now they released IIT JAM Admit card 2017 for the eligible candidates.

Soon after completion of online application process, most of all candidates eagerly waiting for the next announcement. Now the officials disclosed Joint Admission Test Hall Ticket on their official website jam.iitd.ac.in.

Joint Admission Test (JAM) for M.Sc being conducted from 2004 to provide admissions in various courses. The Institutes offer M.Sc (four semesters), Joint M.Sc-Ph.D, M.Sc-Ph.D Dual Degree, M.Sc-M.Tech and much more.

These postgraduate programmes at IITs and IISc offer high quality education in respective disciplines. Every year, one of the IITs releases the notification for the admission into M.Sc courses. Recently they published the notice of Joint Admission Test (JAM-2017) and completed the registration process before the time schedule.

Most of all the candidates, who interested to join in M.Sc courses, have applied. From the received application forms, officials selected the eligible candidates and issued the IIT JAM 2017 Call Letter. The officials commenced the exam date on 12th February 2017 in two shifts. The morning session  conducted from 9AM to 12PM and afternoon session from 2PM to 5PM. The IIT JAM Admit card 2017 is an important document to be carried for the examination centre without fail. It contains necessary details like name, roll number, time, date and venue of the exam.

Without admit card candidates are not allowed to write the exam. The test papers include Biological Sciences (BL), Mathematics (MA) and Physics (PH) for morning session. And for the afternoon session contains Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG) and Mathematical Statistics (MS).

Steps to download admit card:

  • First of all, candidates need to visit jam.iitd.ac.in.
  • Navigate to the homepage.
  • Click on the IIT JAM Admit card 2017 download link.
  • Enter all the necessary details in the provided fields.
  • Download the admit card and take a print out of it.

Placement Alert: Flipkart is not Hiring the Candidates from Top Institutes in 2017

The e-commerce giant, Flipkart has made the latest announcement regarding placements in top most colleges such as IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management) and IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology). These are the most popular universities for hiring students where so many multinational companies would prefer to recruit the candidates for these campuses.

With the placements for the top most institutions in India are just around the corner, and now Flipkart has allegedly reported that they are not hiring the candidates from the IITs and IIMs for the year 2017 in the upcoming placement session.

Apparently, the decision was taken due to so many candidates who have been hired but not giving a joining date. For the past two years, Flipkart has been hiring 200 to 250 students from both IITs and IIMs every year.

The chief administrative officer of Flipkart, Nitin Seth said that “the students who have interned with them will be given the pre-placement offer. He also clarified that there was a deferred joining of about 250-odd students from IITs and IIMs.”

This year the placements at IITs starts from 1st December while the placements at IIMs will commence from early next year. In the placement process, the college officials namely Placement Cell will send invitations to companies or organisations along with relevant information.

Logins are created for the companies or organisations who are interested in recruiting. They have to fill the Job Announcement Form (JAF) by using their online account which contains essential details like place of posting, pay package, allowances and other bonuses.

  • IIT Kharagpur has barred as many as eight start-ups from taking part in their campus recruitment drives.
  • Calcutta IIT has wrapped the summer placements with a top pay band of Rs. 4.5 lakh per month.
  • IIT Bombay postgraduates and graduates have selected by the leading national and multinational corporations and also the research institutes.

Students once placed in the respective company they are not allowed to appear for the other interviews as per the institute placement rules. The company or organisation is required to furnish the final list of selected candidates on the date of interview.

The top recruiters of placements include Aditya Birla Group, Tata Administrative Services, Mahindra & Mahindra and others.
