The Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection (IBPS) has conducted the Probationary officer Mains examination for the candidates who qualified in preliminary exam. In the year 2011, the officials introduced Common Written Examination (CWE) for the recruitment of Probationary Officer, Clerical Cadre and Specialist Officer Posts. IBPS CWE is mandatory for anyone who seeks employment in the 29 public sector and Regional Rural banks.

Every year some lakhs of candidates applies for the notifications released by the IBPS. It is one of the prestigious examinations conducting body in India. Recently they published the notification of CWE VI to recruit 8822 vacant positions of Probationary officer posts.
