Hike Messenger to get UPI-Based Interface to Enable Digital payments

Recently, WhatsApp rumored to integrate UPI-based payments service within the application itself. Now, India’s hike messenger is also up with an idea of UPI-based digital payments service on Hike. Reports say that Hike messenger is planning to integrate with an Indian bank to provide necessary back-end system required.

Hike hinted its plan to enter the digital payments system back in November. This UPI-based digital payments service allows making payments or purchase apps right from the application itself. The model is same like WhatsApp business making use of UPI for transactions.

As per reports, the hike may roll out the feature in the next few months. On the other hand, WhatsApp claimed the launch of service in its app would be in next six months. Hike would become India’s first messaging app to come with digital payment feature if its launches ahead of WhatApp.

In addition to this, Hike will also become the India’s largest UPI-based platform as it already has more than 100 million users of which 90 percent are from India. However, there are few apps like BHIM, PhonePe, and others, but none can beat Hike’s user base.

Furthermore, Hike digital payment services might remove the fuss of adding the beneficiary to send the money. Above all, UPI is backed by Government of India.

Hike messenger has crossed a milestone of 100 million users in India. Its rival WhatsApp notes 200 million users in India. Besides these, Hike Messenger also offers some more interesting features like Hike Direct, Stickers, etc.

Hike one of the India’s fastest  messaging service has announced anew feature called Video Stories. The users on the Hike can able to share the videos up to 20 seconds on their new stories. They can also include the live filters and stickers to their videos.

In addition to this Hike also launched the exclusive ‘Animated Stickers’ for this festival season. This latest introduced sticker pack includes the packs for Christmas, New Year and other traditional packs were also included like Hikin, Penguin and Dance which were released on the eve of ongoing wedding season in some parts of the country. New Year Resolution stickers are the unique attraction in this messaging service.

Hike Messenger for Android Rolls Out Video Calling Feature

During the press meet Hike given the statement on this new update and Applying this Live filters to the faces on the stories makes you expressing the things more dramatic. The live filters in the app will automatically detect and recognise the user’s face using the machine learning and help people to have more fun while storytelling.

The live filters which are included during the festival season are included with the cute Elf, wacky Christmas Tree, Cool Girl Santa, Rudolph the Reindeer and Snowman.

The Photo and Video stories on Hike will disappear after 48 hours. The Hike stories of pictures and videos can be directly shared with your friends. The users can be able to know, how many members has viewed their story.

Facebook Messenger launches Group Video Chat support for Android and iOS

Apart from this new launch, Hike also announced the new digital campaign called “Love, Masti, Dosti” this is wrapped around this new feature and ‘touches upon the fun, lively and raw moments that we share with roommates, lovers and the closest of friends.’

The digital campaign will be run on the Hike’s Social Media handles and will reflect the lives of the young users of Hike. All the features will be rolling out on December 24 to the users.

Hike Messenger has rolled out the hike messenger video calling feature as an update for its Android OS users. However, the company launched its beta version way back in September itself. The beta version was distributed only among a selected users as all do.

After successful implementation, now the company has decided to release the same version formally to all its Android OS smartphone users.

Hike messenger video calling android apps will be made available to the users soon. However, the company has not yet officially announced the date of launch. Hence it is still the expectation and pending for the release.

Hike Messenger has raised $175 million funds from Tencent Holdings and Foxconn Technology Group there by joining the unicorn club with USD 1.4 billion. The other members of the Unicorn club include Flipkart, Snapdeal and Ola from India.
