Reliance Jio Yet to Launch DTH Services, the Leaked Set-Top Box Confirms Jio’s Next Target

After launching 4g sim cards with VoLTE services and Jio-Fi routers, the developers are planning to launch DTH(Direct To Home) services. Below are the leaked online images of the set top box. Honestly, the set-top box pics were leaked in the past too. But the recently leaked images are different from the ones leaked in February.

The images had a Jio remote controller with the set-top box and had a circular top. The device was unique from all the normal set-top devices of other brands.

However, new leaked images suggest Jio might stick with a rectangular design for its set-top box after all. The pictures show a blue box with Reliance Jio branding on top as well as the new set-top box. The device has some ports including a standard cable connector, HDMI, USB, as well as audio and video output. There’s also an Ethernet port, which will allow users to connect to a modem to offer broadband.

But the recently leaked images only has a regular rectangular device which is nothing but routine. The image depicts a blue box with Jio Brand logo. The device contains standard cable connector ports, HDMI and USB ports and audio/video output as well. The device also has an Ethernet port for broadband modems connections.

So after creating sensations in telecom services, Jio finally made its way to DTH services. Jio TV will offer more than 360 channels out of which 50 will be in HD quality. It is said that the users will be provided with voice enabled remote to search channels, shows, categories, etc. Just like the other Jio services, the DTH services will become rivals of other existing services with its low prices.

The Jio services are soon to be launched in Mumbai first. Another interesting aspect about this is the users can enjoy streaming and playing high-definition games with 4k videos.

Reliance Jio, who created waves in telecom circle with its 4G LTE services, became a major part for mobile users. Reliance Jio has already broken the record for its 4G LTE services and became a hot topic and challenging for other mobile telecom operators.

Now, the Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio Infocomm is all set to launch DTH services on December 15, 2016, at an affordable price. According to the latest reports, service subscription will be free for first six months similar to the Jio ‘Welcome Offer’.

Reliance Jio DTH services will be available for a starting price of Rs. 185 per month. Latest reports said that the DTH service would come in the form of a high-speed optical Fibre, pushing speeds up to 1Gbps. The company’s DTH service will also offer customers get access to high-speed internet and a host of Jio services.

Reliance has already done a lot of groundwork to lay down Fibre optic cables across the main cities in India. The company is set to offer Fiber to the Home (FTTH) services with speeds up to 1Gbps, and it has already started a limited trial program in cities like Mumbai and Delhi. Earlier this year during the launch of Reliance Jio 4G services, Ambani has promised to launch Reliance Jio DTH services and finally it is coming in this December.
