BSNL to Relaunch Rs 498 Truly unlimited 3G plan

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), consistently been among the top two or three telecom operators in terms of new subscriber additions. The company announced that they are re-launching the ‘Truly unlimited’ 3G data plan.

Last year in the month of December, BSNL launched their second Truly unlimited data plan for 3G subscribers. However, within a month the plan was rolled back because of free violation of their free usage 3G plan by users.

Hence, BSNL made an announcement regarding relaunch of same 3G plan with the same price and also with the same scheme.

The company expected to launch cheaper and bolder plans and packs on 26th January, i.e., Republic Day. According to the reports, the upcoming new launches will include unlimited packages with time duration of one or two days as well.

Apart from Reliance Jio offer of unlimited voice calls and free data, BSNL right now offers Truly Unlimited plans. Besides Rs. 498 unlimited 3G plan, currently the company offers another pack of Truly unlimited data and calls. On recharge with Rs. 1099, all the subscribers can avail unlimited data and BSNL-to-BSNL calls. And this plan is still active.

As compared to other recently launched packs, the unlimited calls and 3G/4G data came with a validity of one month and priced at Rs 500.  The only advantage of choosing BSNL Truly unlimited 3G data that the telecom offering. Its rivals Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular already announced their new packs in counter to Reliance Jio.

Tata Docomo Offers Voice and 2GB data at Rs 299 to Postpaid Users

Tata Docomo has also joined the data pricing wars in the telecom sector. The company has announced the launch of Simple is the best combo plans for its postpaid users. With the recharge of Rs 299, all the postpaid customers can enjoy 1500 minutes talktime and 2GB of data.

As the company claimed, the 1500 minutes offered under the Voice plan will be applicable for both STD and local calls. The data plan of 2GB will remain intact, however on the usage of extra data after 2GB is charged to 15p per MB.

The Vice President, Consumer Business, Mumbai of Tata Teleservices, Jamshed Gilani said, “With our ‘Simple is the Best’ plans, we want to offer our subscribers greater benefits of voice and data at competitive prices. And through the simple product that would take care of all the necessary data and voice needs of our customers.”

The voice benefits will be applicable for the first six months of subscription to which the voice plan will change to 1000 minutes. All the postpaid subscribers will get a special offer of local calls would be charged 30p, and the STD calls at 40p under Voice plan along with data benefits.

“We have seen an uptake of our data services and to additional democratise data usage amongst our subscribers we are providing higher data benefits. As a customer-centric company, our most important aim is to provide better user expertise and further deepen our customer engagement,” he added.

The move from Tata Docomo to offer the Voice and data plans in postpaid seems to secure their subscribers in the network. With the launch of this offer, the company is expecting to make a big move in the telecom market and stand in the competition among their rivals Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vodafone and Idea Cellular.
