Android 7.0 Nougat update is out, Have you get it?

Android 7.0 Nougat update

Android 7.0 Nougat is out, and the eternal question is that when will it be available for all phones. Unlike the previous updates, Google has first released Nougat to developers through a public preview beta program. After this early access before its release, the new Android version is launched to Nexus devices on 22 August.

Things have got a bit more complicated in 2016 with the launch of Google’s own branded Pixel and Pixel XL devices. Since the device has got the new Android 7.1, few features remain exclusive to the Google new phones.

LG V20 was the first device to feature Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and unveiled officially on 6 September. The update has got into action on the Nexus 6 on 3 October. Recently launched Pixel phones with the new Android 7.1 Nougat will be available from 20 October.

Nexus Devices

The update is available for the brand Nexus from 22 August, and the company has confirmed the Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus 5X, Pixel C and Nexus Player would all be availing the over-the-air updates. Nexus 5 has been put out of the ground. Google hasn’t announced the date for the next update which brings new features like Daydream VR.

Google Alleged Pixel and Pixel XL set to Release with Special Version of Android Nougat
BlackBerry

Now, BlackBerry is all about Android. The company’s earlier released Blackberry Priv launched on Android Lollipop, and there is no update for Marshmallow for the next six months from then.

A small boon for the Blackberry users is that things are speeding up for the next Android update. Nougat will be available for Blackberry users by the end of 2016 or more probably by early 2017.

HTC

HTC manages a 90-day promise for updating software, and the company also assures your device will be updated for the next two years after its release. The company has confirmed by a tweet saying “final shipping Android 7.0 Nougat software.”

Android Nougat will be rolling out from the unlocked models of the HTC One A9, HTC 10, and the HTC One M9, as well as carrier versions.

Huawei

Ever since the launch of its Mate 8 in November 2015, Huawei began offering Pre-loaded Marshmallow OS in its devices. It seems the company might do the same this year by launching the Mate 9 with 7.0 Nougat before the end of this year.

Updates for the older devices might be rolling out in a couple of months as Huawei is little quicker than others. However, it is unclear that Huawei will offer Nougat 7.1 or not. Interestingly, the company already offers swipe action fingerprint scanner which is one of the 7.1 additions.

LG

LG claims first to manufacture the Marshmallow update. LG G5 owners will get to see an Android update in the next two months of the final build release. Update for existing users with old handsets will be out in early 2017.

As the company had already launched the LG V20 earlier last month, Android 7.1 is now in the mix. However, it is unclear about which version LG is going to arrive for LG handset owners.

Motorola

Motorola was one among the fastest to update devices. But it’s proven wrong in the case of the new release Android version. The company has now officially confirmed a list of handsets which will be updated soon. The list also includes the latest Z series.

  • Moto G (4th Gen)
  • Moto G Plus (4th Gen)

  • Moto X-Force
  • Droid Turbo 2
  • Droid Maxx 2
  • Moto Z

New Moto Z and Moto G4 will be the first to get updates from Q4 2016. It’s unclear at the moment if this might be Android 7.1 or Android 7.0.

Samsung

Samsung rolled out an update for Android Marshmallow in South Korea at the end of January 2016. Other devices in various regions had to wait a little longer than expected to get the updates. With a huge list of devices to get an update, Samsung tends to be a little slower.

The company has thought that the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge would be updated to Grace UX as happened in the Note 7. The update might include 7.1 Nougat too.
