Amazon India to Provide 1200 Job Opportunities for its New 7 Warehouses

Online marketing retailer, Amazon India announced that it had opened seven new warehouses in a process to boost up their sales for the high-priced products. The company has set up Fulfilment Centres to cater larger appliances like Refrigerators, Televisions and Furniture. And the move started by Amazon also creates 1200 Job opportunities.

Amazon India has invested $5 billion in the Indian market and along with these the company also set up 33 new delivery stations to meet the demand of ordering by the users. Currently, Amazon has 34 warehouses across ten states which are far higher than its rival Flipkart. Apart from this, two Fulfilment Centres are already established in Mumbai and Gurgaon.

The Amazon India Vice President, Akhil Saxena said, “We have set up a dedicated infrastructure of nine FCS and 33 exclusive delivery stations that will secure faster and reliable delivery of large appliances and furniture to more than 150 cities. Between the nine dedicated FCs and 33 distribution locations, about 1200 new job opportunities will be created. These will be a mix of temporary and on-roll jobs.”

In order to boost up the sales in the respective category, Amazon India introduced exchange schemes and also the no-cost EMI service. The e-commerce giant also planned to increase its product collection and is also ties up with new brands.

According to the reports, by implementing new seven warehouses, the online retailer will deliver larger products and furniture in more than 150 cities. It also offers 2-days delivery next-day delivery option in 20 cities. Over the past year, the gross sales of large appliances have increased to 200 percent. In addition to introducing warehouses, Amazon India is also offering installation services for the large appliances.

Amazon India seeks Government Nod to Set Online Food Venture

Amazon applied to the government to $500 million investment in the wholly-owned venture in India. Last year, the company launched the Amazon Now service for the hyperlocal delivery in a few selected cities in the country. Amazon India plans to start the Online Food Venture.

The company is competing against the BigBasket and Grofers who have strong hold right now in India. However, Amazon can’t sell the products of its own online which is one different from other online websites. It has to source those from the grocery store and supply it to customers.

Amazon City-Specific Platform Allows Home-Based Business to Go Online

Amazon India subsidiary filed an application with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) to the obtain licence to set up a retail chain in the country. After the approval from the department, it can sell food products locally produced directly from the farmers.

“We are excited by the government’s continued efforts to encourage FDI in India for a stronger food supply chain. We have asked approval to invest and partner with the government in achieving this vision,” said the Amazon Spokesperson.

Another giant retailer, Walmart was not interested in selling only thin-margin food products and despite the Government’s relaxation of FDI rules. The government decision to allow 100% FDI based on the assumption that farmers will able to benefit directly rather than selling to other companies that sell processed food in India.

Amazon comes up with another new concept in the Indian market. Amazon city-specific platform helps small sellers to go online. Considering the push towards digitization in the Indian economy, Amazon is focusing more on startups in India. The new city-specific platform is now live in Bengaluru provides a marketplace to small entrepreneurs.

He also mentioned that Amazon city-specific platform would also include home décor and other categories soon. The new service works on a city-based model where only a buyer registered with a Bengaluru address has visibility to the products. Amazon India’s logistics network fulfills the orders which pick and packages the product.

Amazon Now launched 2-hour Delivery Service in Delhi and Mumbai

The city-based service influences small entrepreneurs’ discoverability on the Amazon. The fee structure is fixed and charges Rs 10 as a commission for transaction below Rs 1,000.

Snapdeal’s Shopo is also a kind of small sellers platform. Amazon city-specific platform is building a business model to increase repeat transactions and push its Prime membership service. Reports say Amazon Seller Services received an infusion of Rs 2,010 crore in in December to take on domestic competitors like Flipkart.

The e-commerce giant Amazon has introduced new platform named Sell as Individual for its customers to sell their used products locally. It is a platform for all users to sell their devices and Amazon is the first online shopping portal to launch this initiative.

Amazon India has already emerged as one of the best e-commerce portals in India and recently it has come up with many initiatives to attract their users and registered customers. Through this scheme, anyone can sell their used products in your local city. Currently, the facility is available in Bangalore only and very soon it will be expanded to other cities in India.

Through Amazon website, you can sell your used products like mobiles and other electronic gadgets. The Amazon will offer you doorstep pick-up, packing, and delivery of goods.

If you want to sell a product, just go to the Sell as Individual Page’ and click the button Start Selling. Then you can find choose category, Provide the product picture, Product Name and the price, mention your address and pick up details. Coming to the city in a drop menu, Bangalore is the only city option in the drop menu.

Once you fill the details, the product is listed on Amazon.in. Other customers can see your listing and make the purchase. If the product is sold, you can receive an email and schedule pickup time is allocated.

Later Amazon will pick up, pack and ship the product to the buyer. In case, if the buyer returns the product, Amazon will send it back to you at no change. If the sale is completed, Amazon will hand over the money to you with a small fee deduction.

The charges look pretty affordable. The items under Rs. 1000 the fee is Rs. 10, for up to Rs. 5,000 fee comes to Rs. 50, and for items of greater value, the fee is Rs. 100.

To boost the latest Amazon Sell as Individual service, the leading e-commerce portal is offering Rs. 1000 as Amazon Pay Balance; it is their wallet from which you can buy products listed on Amazon.

On ‘Sell as Individual’ page, the FAQ terms and conditions lead you to Junglee website. Junglee has been proposing buying and selling of refurbished, used, unboxed mobiles, books and more. On Junglee website also there is now a banner advertisement for ‘Sell as Individual,’ and the sell button in Junglee’s navigation takes you to the same sell page.
