AP Government Entered Into An MoU With HCL Technologies Limited


Andhra Pradesh state government has entered into an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with HCL Technologies Limited to start IT centers in the captal region Amaravati and Vijayawada.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the ITE and C Department has signed a MoU with HCL Chairman Shiv Nadar, which states that the company will invest Rs. 500 crores in two phases over a 10 year period.

As per the agreement, the company is going to invest Rs. 300 crores in an IT centre at Kesarapalli village in Gannavaram mandal. For this, the government has already allotted 17.86 acres of land. Through this, the government has plans to provide employment to 3,000 people and the first phase of construction will get completed by August, 2018.

Remaining Rs. 200 crores will be invested in second phase and after the completion of this, this likely to create employment to another 2,000 people. At Inavolu village, the government has given ten acres of land and the works likely to start by 2022.

During the occasion, CM has poured compliments on Shiv Nadar, as “Your presence in Amaravati is going to create the much  needed ecosystem for IT growth. We want to be the best in the world and been doing efforts to make it the best place.”

Chandrababu Naidu has invited Nadar to build the best infrastructure for HCL IT centres in the capital region of Andhra Pradesh and also assured that his government is going to provide the support and help for the company.

Addressing the gathering, Shiv Nadar said, “Our Company is always in the front to bring new opportunities and this initiative is mainly to provide employment opportunities to the local talent and make today’s youth as tomorrow’s IT experts. We have decided to set up something innovative in the Andhra Pradesh as most of our employees in Chennai office are from AP itself. Our main motto is to encourage the youth in AP.

Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, will see Electric buses with no emissions. UK-based architects Foster and Partners suggest using only non-polluting, eco-friendly public transport, especially buses, and the government approved on Wednesday. The state’s new capital will see electric buses on roads of Amaravati administrative city with dedicated stops.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu confirmed news after meeting Foster and Partners at Vijayawada. Foster and Partners and Hafeez Contractor are the lead architects for designing the government complex. The presentation titled “Amaravati-The People’s Capital – Building a Sustainable Vision” was made by Foster and Partners.

The presentation provoked the green and blue spaces which say the city would consist 51 per cent greenery. Foster’s representatives said that the city includes natural landscapes and public parks. The vehicle-free zone encourages alternative sustainable methods of transport, provision for a dedicated bicycle, electric vehicles, and pedestrians routes.

The “Building Civic Pride: The People’s Capital” concept, the government complexes will be open for all. Cultural buildings should be integrated within the green and blue areas, urban squares and city squares should be attractive and inclusive.

Furthermore, Chris Bubb of Foster and Partners said that energy consumption could be reduced by 40-60 percent by using solar energy. Amaravati would not only just be a modern city but will also emerge as a smart city. This also integrates local arts and culture from all 13 districts and promotes Andhra Pradesh’s culture, heritage, and arts.

The designs suggested make Amaravati a walkable city with Vehicle-free zones and dedicated bicycle and pedestrian routes.

If the Sources are to be believed, soon unemployed youth in and around Vijayawada will get some job opportunities in IT sector. The buzz is that the Indian Multinational IT company HCL is going to start its office in Amaravati.

According to the reports, the HCL Technologies has decided to invest a wholesome of Rs 500 Cr in the capital of Andhra Pradesh. If it happens, HCL will be the first Software company to enter into the newly divided state.

The Leaks from the CMO stated that “The tech giant has evinced interest to invest Rs 500 crore in launching IT and ITES services from Amaravati. If all goes as per plans, HCL will begin its full-scale operations by October 2018,” the communication from CMO read. About 5,000 jobs will be created with the entry of HCL.
