7th Pay Commission: The present rate of Constant Attendant Allowance is Rs 4,500. As per the recommendation made by the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), the constant attendant allowance is increased by Rs 6750 for the retired government employees.
The Constant Attendance Allowance (CAA) shall be paid on a monthly basis during the period of the award along, with disability or war injury pension as the case may be.
Central Attendant Allowance has only sanctioned for 100% disablement, if in the opinion of qualified medical authority; the retired employee needs the services of a Constant Attendant for at least three months. This is subject to acceptance by the pension sanctioning authority and the condition that the pensioner employs a paid attendant to look after him.

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions increased the allowances from Rs 4,500 to Rs 6, 750 every month. According to Ministry, the order will be applicable from July 1st, 2017. The CAA is paid in addition to the disability pension. The allowances will be further increased by 25% each time Dear Allowances (DA) increase by 50%.
On June 28, the Union Cabinet cleared all the 7th Pay Commission Allowances with 34 amendments to the recommendations. This move will impact close to 50 lakh government employees.
