15 pak rangers killed

In the latest retaliatory firing along the International Border at Jammu and Kashmir, 15 Pakistani Rangers are killed by the Border Security Force. It is estimated that 15 Pakistani Rangers are killed in the past week. This retaliatory firing occurred after the cease-fire violation near RS Pura, Sunderbani, Poonch, Akhnoor sectors.

“Among the 15 killed, it is believed that there were 2 Pakistani Frontier Force Soldiers and the remaining 13 were Rangers. It is unfortunate one civilian was killed in Pak firing in Khor belt of Jammu district. Pakistan forces are pushing militants into our side as we foiled two infiltration bids a day before”, said the BSF Official.

“There are ceasefire violations repeatedly; we are giving a befitting reply. As far as our people have seen, what we have assessed is at least 15 rangers have been killed,” said senior BSF officer Arun Kumar.

The latest firing has lasted long for 24 hours. Pakistan began firing around 5 a.m along the LoC with heavy shelling. Jitender Singh, 46, died after hit by a mortar shell fired in RS Pura Sector. In the last five days around 3 BSF Jawans lost their lives due to Pakistani shelling. Areas in and around the Borders were set on high alert.

“Yesterday, unprovoked ceasefire violation continued till night. It again started at three places this morning. We are giving them an appropriate response,” said Manish Mehta, Spokesperson of Defence Ministry.

Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister, had lauded the soldiers with a prompt action saying “fitting response, BSF is doing their job on the border with a lot of courage. We are proud of our Jawans ”.

All over the last week, more than 42 civilians were injured, and a 6-year-old Child has killed during the heavy 120mm and 80mm mortars shelling by Pakistani.
