Yamaha has updated its commuter motorcycle YBR125 for the year 2017 in European markets. The company has launched the Yamaha YS125 with fresh and much sportier style. The motorcycle shares the same running gear of the older YBR125. Few elements like redesigned engine help for a better fuel efficiency. The bike meets the Euro 4 emission regulations and comes with Unified Braking System.

Starting with the exterior font, Yamaha YS125 has got a newly designed headlight with a compact cowl. The muscular and chiseled tank with an upswept muffler and sporty air scoops give a sporty look to the new Yamaha.

Yamaha says that “The 795 seat height gives a natural and upright commuting position. The single seat will give added passenger comfort with a convenient grab rail.”

The Yamaha YS125 is powered by a two-valve single-cylinder, 125 cc single overhead cam engine. The engine produces a power of 10.5 bhp maximum at 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 10.8 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The Electronic fuel injection carries fueling. The motorcycle weights around 129 Kg and gets 18-inch wheels at both ends. Yamaha YS125 is equipped with a telescopic fork at front and swingarm mounted twin shocks at the rear.

Concerning India, the 125cc segment in Yamaha is led by Saluto with around 50,000 unit sales each month. The simple design and fuel efficient engine along with pillion-friendly ergonomics contributes to a wide range of customers. 125cc motorcycle segment in India has observed a 10 percent growth in year-on-year sales.

As of now, we don’t have any update about the Yamaha YS125 launch in India. Recently, the company has launched Yamaha FZ25 and is focusing more on it. But still, YS125 is certainly a promising product to be launched in India with a combo of styling and technology.
