The United Nations will be going to announce the comic book character Wonder Woman as its Privileged Ambassador for the Empowerment of Woman and Girls at a celebration on 21st October at New York headquarters. The DC Entertainment President, Diane Nelson will accept the designation on behalf of the comic book, TV and film character.

Wonder Woman is a fictional superhero arriving in American Comic books that had published by DC Comics. The Character of Wonder Woman is an organizing member of the Justice League, Demigoddess and Warrior Princess of Amazons.

Wonder Woman, created by American Writer William Moulton Marston, Elizabeth Holloway Marston and Harry G. Peter.

Wonder Woman has also frequently appeared in comic books featuring superhero teams such as Justice Society (from 1941) and Justice League (from 1960). The first appearance of Wonder Woman done in All Star Comics (on December 18).

The ceremony also launches the campaign supporting gender equality. And Woman empowerment as it is one of the global goals of United Nations. This event is attended by the UN Secretary-general Ban Ki-moon, Diane Nelson (DC Entertainment President). Some surprise guests who also include the actors appeared as Wonder Woman for years also including the cast Lynda Carter.

“Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world,” says the UN.

“Providing Woman and girls with equal access to education, health care, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes. It will fuel sustainable economies and benefit societies and humanity at large.”

The event sponsored by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros who are associating with UNICEF and UN for a year-long campaign.
