Indians already witnessed the first electric car; people who are probably looking for the two wheels will not be disappointed. The Pune-based electric bike maker has unveiled the India’s first all-electric motorcycle - T6X. India’s 1st All-Electric Motorcycle is Tork T6X.

This electric motorcycle has been in the news, and this is priced about ₹ 1,24,999 (Ex-showroom Price). This bike is equivalent to the 200cc petrol-powered motorcycle and ideal for those who choose to ride in the city, said by the Kapil Shelke co-founder of Tork Motorcycles T6X.

This is having the immediate surge of torque which is available right from the word GO, and this electric bike T6X promises to be quick in this lineup. The good thing about this Electric bike is, it falls under the Central Government’s FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) initiative and eligible for subsidies.

Tork T6X can attain the top speed of 100 kmph and gets 100 km on a full charge. Shelke says that the company planning to set up six public charging stations and as of now two stations are established in Pune and Lonavala.

The company is hoping to have 100 charging stations in the target cities like Pune, Bangalore, and Delhi as the first phase of operations. Currently, there are only three cities which will get the new Tork T6X motorcycle so far. They are Pune, Bangalore, and Delhi.

Highlights of the new Tork T6X are Full Digital Display, Quick Charging and Superior Acceleration, DRL, CBS, ABS, Geo-Sensing, Anti-theft, Disk Brakes for both front and rear end, 17-inch tubeless tyres, etc. The weight of the bike comes with 130 kgs. The battery pack is IP67 which is certified water and dust resistant and it can deliver a peak torque of 27 Nm.

This start-up is partly funded by Entrepreneur and Mechanical Engineer Kapil Shelke and his father. Rest of the funding comes from Angel Investors Ankit Bhati and Bhavesh Agrawal of Ola Cabs (Their Personal Funds)

The financial details about the funding details have not been made for public, but Kapil Shelke has said that there is neither a foreign technology nor investment. These lithium battery pack and other components are sourced within the country.

The launch event has held in Bangalore earlier today at the Tech Sparks 2016 event. This is the second launch event in Bangalore which has happened for the same category. New Ather S340 Electric Scooter has launched in the same city. Deliveries are yet to start for both scooters as of now.
