If you have a smartphone with you, definitely you may take a selfie. Do you agree with this? However, Selfies had gone crazy among people, and so many Selfies deaths occurred across the globe. According to the latest reports revealed by the scientists, Selfie Deaths raised day by day, and over 73 people died from selfies in the first eight months of this year.

Latest survey told that India stood in number one position in selfie deaths in 2016. More people died in India due to selfies compared to other countries across worldwide. Researchers from Carnegie Mellon University and Indraprastha Institute of Information, Delhi have submitted a report on selfie deaths.

The academics analysis titled as “Me, Myself and My Killfie: Characterizing and preventing selfie deaths” found that 127 selfie deaths reported from March 2014 to September 2016. Of those 76 deaths occurred in India alone.

The study on a blog said that Pakistan had nine selfie deaths, Russia six and over the United States eight the past two years.

In the year 2015 alone, more Indian died on taking a selfie while posing in front of an oncoming train, in a boat, riverside, mountain hills and smooth edge of canals, etc. The Important thing is that a Japanese tourist who came to see Taj Mahal died by taking a selfie and fell from the steps. Later he died suffering from head injuries.

Facebook, Twitter Joins Coalition to Tackle Fake News Stories 

Canvassers analyzed thousands of selfies posted on Twitter and found that men were killed rather than women to take dangerous selfies. A majority of people died from selfies were under 24 years of age. Most common cause of death is falling from buildings, road accidents, hit by a train, etc. But selfie deaths is rapidly increased in the past two years. Most of the Indian deaths were water-related.

The Ministry of Tourism has asked the Government to establish no-selfie zones in dangerous areas. In few areas, already no selfie zones were launched but still the selfie deaths are registering across India.
