Samsung has announced the new addition to its J series, Galaxy J5 prime and J7 prime smartphones launched in India. These midrange smartphones from Samsung are like any other smartphones in the series with an aggressive price to be tough competitors in the market. Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime comes out with a screen size of 5.5 inches with a 1080p resolution display and 2.5D Gorilla Glass on the front. Powered by 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, the device is coupled with 3GB of RAM for fast performance. An internal storage of 16GB is provided and is expandable up to 256GB through the provided microSD slot.

Coming to the younger sibling, Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime ships with a quad-core Exynos CPU which is paired with a 2GB of RAM. The device is available with an internal memory of 16GB and is expandable up to 256GB via microSD slot. Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime sports a 5-inch AMOLED display with 720 x 1280 pixels.
Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime and J7 Prime runs on the Android platform, while J7 Prime ships with a 6.1 Marshmallow, J5 prime comes out with Lollipop version. J7 Prime packs a powerful battery of 3300 mAh while a 2,400 mAh battery backs J5 Prime.
On camera department, both the devices sports a primary camera if 13MP and an 8MP selfie shooter is provided in the front. Connectivity options provided for the devices ensures an excellent connectivity in every which possible way. Additional features include S power planning and S secure which are a battery saving feature and lock feature essentially.
Samsung made the devices available in two color options, which is Black and Gold. While Galaxy J7 Prime is tagged a price if Rs.18790, Galaxy J5 Prime is available for a price of Rs.14790.
