The day was different when all the news items focused only on the prestigious and most awaited Women’s Gold Medal Match, with all hopes laying on P.V Sindhu the ace shuttler of India.

Media persons gathered at her home to collect the response from her parents, about her historic entry into finals. And the time came where billions of Indians stuck to the television watching the match and cheering.

PV Sindhu fought in the final match till the last set point against her opponent Carolina Marine from Spain. After winning the first set, Sindhu saw a dominant opponent which made her lose the game 21-19, 12-21, 15-21 to Marine. However, the 21-year-old Telugu girl fought like a true champion to secure Silver medal for her country.

The post match gestures by Sindhu won billions of hearts in the indoor stadium and the viewers in front of the TV. Carolina sobbed after her win and dropped her racquet. Then the Sindhu congratulated Carolina for her success with a hug and went back picked up Marines Racquet and kept it in the winners bag. This gesture lauded Sindhu’s win more than the gold.

Carolina too became the first Women to bag Gold for her country in Badminton singles. The top-seeded broke into tears during the medal ceremony where Spains National Anthem was played. Carolina dominated her play and proved that she is worth Gold medal.

After Sindhu’s historic win Government of Telangana has announced a price amount of 1 Cr. The other rewards she is likely to get are 50 lakh cash price from Madhya Pradesh government, a BMW from Hyderabad District Badminton Association, cash price from All India Football Federation. She may be signing as Brand Ambassador for a top Jewellery shop and some real estate firms.
