Recently Chinese handset maker Protruly had unveiled world’s first smartphone with the 360-degree camera under the name Darling.
Protruly had categorized the Darling smartphone into two versions namely Darling D7 and Darling D8. The evolution of 360-degree videos is truly a miracle in the field of optics. As people would be keen to use the new unique technology, Smartphone makers also coming with fresh and revolutionary ideas.

Talking about the specifications of Protruly Darling Smartphones, both the handsets feature a 5.5-inch HD display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution. Running on Android 6.0 marshmallow, the smartphone is powered by a 3560 mAh non-removal battery.
Coming to the storage department, Darling D7 is paired up with 3GB RAM and 4GB ROM while the D8 smartphone packs a 4GB RAM and internal memory of 64GB. Both the devices can be expanded up to 128GB using a Micro SD card.
Both the Darling devices were built using a 2.5GHz MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor paired with Mali T880 MP4 GPU. With a MicroSD card, the storage can be expanded up to 128GB. A Fingerprint sensor is placed on the backside portion of both the handsets.
The highlight of these smartphones would be its Camera Department. A 13MP sensor is employed at the back portion along with a dual tone LED Flash and 8MP front camera for effective selfies.

Both the cameras would be having another tow sensors which would assist in capturing the 360-degree videos and photos. With the additional sensors, the 13MP and 8MP would make 26MP,16MP 360 degree videos, and photos. Videos can be recorded at 4K resolution by using these devices. The handset duo also allows users to upload/live broadcast the 360 degree videos captured.
Other regular Connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS, 3.5mm Audio port, and USB Type-C 3.1 port are included in both smartphones.
Difference between D7 and D8
The Darling D8 smartphone is the premium one of both the smartphones because of its rich design and other lavish features. D7 is packed with plastic camera housing at the top while the higher-end Darling uses leather, a strip of gold, and four embedded diamonds. Apart from the design 1GB of RAM differentiates the former with the latter one.
The Price of Protruly Darling D7 and Darling D8 are 4980 Yuan and 8800 Yuan respectively. The estimated Indian price would be around Rs.48000 for the basic version and Rs.85,000 for the premium one. At present no details about the global availability were known. We will update if we get any latest update about the worldwide launch.
