Harley-Davidson India is going to launch a new motorcycle the 2017 Harley-Davidson Street Rod. The manufacturer has listed the motorcycle on the official website along with the details. This new Harley-Davidson Street Rod is based upon the earlier Harley-Davidson Street 750. The company claims that the new Street Rod offers a modern and slightly different aesthetic approach.
New Harley-Davidson Street Rod has borrowed its design cue’s from the discontinued XR1200X. You also observe few cosmetic changes like new headlight cowl, split seat and rear cowl. The drag-style handlebars with bar-end mirrors list the other updates in the design.
The motorcycle gets a 13.1-litre teardrop fuel tank and an updated exhaust system for a more throaty sound. The Harley-Davidson Street Rod gets the same 749 cc V-twin engine of Street 750. But this is a new High Output Revolution X v-twin unit which produces more peak torque of 62 Nm at 3750 rpm. The engine is painted black to meet the design theme, and you also observe some chrome accents.
The Street Rod weights 5 Kg heavier than the Street 750 and measures kerb weight of 238 kg. 43 mm inverted forks and piggyback reservoir rear shocks are assigned for suspension duties. The longer travel suspension gives a sporty look and is more responsive in urban road conditions.
New H-D Street Rod comes with 17-inch cast aluminum wheels with 300 mm twin discs in the front. The new motorcycle from Harley will be launched officially soon, and Harley-Davidson Street Rod price is unknown yet. However, the price is expected to be around Rs 5.5 lakh and is expected to contribute huge sales in India.
