MyGov: Prime Minister First town-hall Meeting in Obama Style to be held Today

Mere Pyare Bharat Vasiyo” the famous addressing by PM Narendra Modi will be heard again today, he will be addressing citizens at an indoor stadium today in the evening. The session will be held for one hour, and the people will be chosen from the Government web portal MyGov engagements.

This is the first such session held by a prime minister of our country, which is being compared to Obama style Town-hall meeting.

The event is attributed to the two-year completion of the mygov citizens’ engagement platform. The event will be held at Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex, New Delhi from 9.30 am onwards. Various multiple panel discussions are planned for the event. The event will witness a new app launch through which users can connect to PM’s office.

The meeting will be started at 5’o clock today. About 2000 active mygov users have been invited to participate in the meet. “They would be selected from among the regular users of MyGov, based on their ideas, level of engagement, questions and suggestions,” said MyGov Chief Executive Officer Gaurav Dwivedi.

The whole event is divided into four sessions, which is based on a theme, “DO, DISCUSS, DISSEMINATE” before the prime minister address the meet.

FIRST SESSION: will include Innovation Contests, e-Greetings Contests, Volunteering, Poll, Design Contests and Survey functionalities of MyGov.

SECOND SESSION- The government officials would be seated alongside the mygov contributors, and they will discuss the brainstorming ideas and experiences.

THIRD SESSION:Discussion on improving user base, introducing new features, improve the user experience.

FOURTH SESSION: DISSEMINATE will focus on #TransformingIndia website www.transformingindia.mygov.in, e-Sampark portal and LIVE Events (Talks). Ministers from union government and media personalities will take over the session.

The event will be marked to an end with the PM Narendra Modi speech. The winners of the competitions are invited to participate in the event to receive the awards from the prime minister. Mygovt contests were Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, Governance Quiz, India-Africa Quiz and Duties of a Citizen.

Mygovt web portal has about 3.5 million registered users, and 3.4 million commented in various discussions.
