Mumbai Rains Bring the Public Lives to Stand Still, Heavy Traffic Jams Reported

Mumbai Rains always have a severe impact on the lives of people, and the same is continuing even in this monsoon. Hitting hard on the city life severe flooding rains have got lives of people to a halt.

Roads are flooded with waters and trains, and flights are delayed. Most of the places of the south and central Mumbai have been drowned and according to the weather reports the situation may not change in the next 48 hrs.

Eastern and western suburbs have drowned causing severe interruption to the traffic in the peak hours of the morning. Suburban train services on the Western Railway, Central Railway and Harbour line, ran almost half an hour late.

Due to low visibility and air congestion domestic and international flights are reported to be delayed by at least half an hour. However, there are no diversions and cancellations on the flights.

So far in less than a week Mumbai has recorded 307mm of rain against its monthly rainfall of 529mm. According to reports, more than 30 bus routes have been diverted because of heavy water lodging on the roads.
