The Maruti Suzuki has officially launched the hot hatchback Baleno RS in India. The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS has been rolled out in a single variant. The car comes with few alternations on exterior turbocharged when compared to the standard Baleno. The Indo-Japnese carmaker has sold over 1.38 lakh units of the Baleno from 1st of April 2016 to 31st Jan 2017.

New Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS priced at Rs 8.69 lakh and will be available at all the Nexa outlets in India. The vehicle gets a new front mesh grille with a chrome bezel and a sportier and larger front bumper too. New Baleno RS gets a gets a satin black side skirt and a set of 16-inch black alloy wheels. The rear bumper of the device has also got the change which resembles typical hatchback.

The interior of the car remained almost same as of the standard Baleno. The Baleno RS also gets a larger spoiler when compared to the standard model car. 14-inch disc at the front and 13-inch disks at the rear are assigned for braking duties. The weight of the vehicle is increased by 60Kgs, and Maruti Suzuki has tuned to suspension for better handling.

Baleno RS is powered by a 1.0-litre BoosterJet petrol engine and is to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The turbo charged petrol engine makes 101 bhp and churns out 150 Nm of peak torque. As of now, Maruti Suzuki hasn’t revealed any info regarding automatic variant, neither CVT nor AMT. On infotainment font, a large touchscreen is provided in the center of dashboard comes with Apple CarPlay and built-in navigation.

Maruti Suzuki believes that the new Baleno RS will stands as a tough competitor in the segment. Other players in the same class like Ford Figo 1.5 and Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and the Abarth Punto Evo. The car maker has said that the car will be manufactured in the Suzuki’s new plant in Gujarat. It will be more interesting to see how the latest Baleno RS will attract buyers.
