Maha Shivaratri 2017
We are celebrating Maha Shivaratri 2017 on February 24th. This is the day for Lord shiva, on this day by praying to him we will get blessings of the God. People who prayed to the Shiva will get the good fortune, health, wealth, peaceful mind in their life.
According to some epics Maha Shivaratri is celebrated on occasion of Shiva and Parvathi marriage. After the death of Sati, Shiva has married to Parvathi who is the incarnation of Sati. So people celebrated this day as one of the sacred days. People must know the Shivaratri significance on this day. Once look at this Maha Sivaratri story.
In ancient days a hunter went to a forest and stuck up at night. A lion chased him, so in the fear, he climbed the tree named Bilva and stayed the whole night without eating anything. He didn’t notice that there is Shiva idol under the tree; accidentally he worships the God with bilva leaves by doing fasting and jagaran. After his death, he went to kailsam because on the day of Maha Sivaratri he worshiped Lord Shiva with fasting and jagaran.
Shivaratri Pooja Vidhi is people should wake up early in the morning. They have to take a bath and wear new clothes if possible after they can visit to any temple, if going to temple is not possible they can worship the God at home only. On this day they should fast to get blessings of Shiva and do jagaran. Chanting the mantra Om Namah Shivaya will give you benefit to have a concentrated mind
So, on this Maha Shivaratri 2017, all of us chant the mantra Om Namashivaya!! Hara Hara Maha Deva Shambo Shankara.
