Reliance Jio 4G became a matter of key concern for its competitors to reduce the prices for voice calls and data services. With the very low prices, Reliance Jio preview offer has lead to a price war in the telecom sector.

Reliance Communications Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced the commercial launch of Reliance Jio 4G services on 5 September. The recently released tariff plans ensure the lowest rates for voice calls and data post its free offer.

Reliance hopes this will credit benefit to people across India and boosts the company network and revenue as well. Jio announced 10 data tariff plans ranging from Rs. 19 per day to Rs. 4999 a month. Company’s also announced the lowest data plan in the world which is Rs. 50 per GB.

It is reported that the leading cellular companies like Idea Cellular, Bharti Airtel Ltd, and Reliance Communications Ltd combined had lost Rs 13, 165.55 crores in market value on Thursday. The reason behind this is the bold decision on low prices by Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL).

Since the announcement of low prices the Sensex of the leading mobile companies reportedly fell. Idea Cellular ended at Rs 83.70, down 10.5%, Bharti Airtel fell 6.4% to close at Rs.310.70, and Reliance Communications fell 8.81% to Rs 49.15 on a day.

Ahead of its launch, Reliance Jio 4G offered free voice calls to any network and very low data rates to its consumers. The company also proclaimed that the subscribers could avail the Jio’s Bouquet of services till 31 December for free.

Reliance Jio has become the worst nightmare of losing their customers to other telecom companies. With the Jio’s aggressive move, Bharati Airtel, Idea, Vodafone has cut down their tariffs plans to hold their customers.
