A little mouse recognised all over the world and became the favourite among several millions of kids and rubbing his shoulders from Goofy to Britney Spears, ‘Mickey Mouse’ is celebrating his 88th birthday today #HappyBirthdayMickey. He turns 88 today, and there’s no grey hair on him.

Mickey continued to grow and evolve throughout the 20th century by funny comic strips, video games, feature movies and much more.   • Mickey appeared in ‘Mickey’s Kangaroo,’ in black and white for the last time and appeared in ‘The Band Concert’ on 23rd February, 1935, in colour for the first time.
  • One of his most famous roles is as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice in his feature film debut Fantasia in the year 1940. In 1955, Mickey Mouse made his debut on television in Mickey Mouse Club.
  • Walt Disney has never established any marital relations between Mickey and Minnie Mouse on screen. But during an interview in 1933, he had said, “In private life, Mickey married to Minnie… What it really amounts to is that Minnie is, for screen purposes, his leading lady.”
  • A tradition known as ‘Hidden Mickeys” became largely popular after Disney Imaginers designed a Disney theme park and subtly “hid” Mickey Mouse silhouettes in absolutely plain sight.
  • Mickey Mouse became an instant favourite with the release of Steamboat Willie on November 18, 1928, the first cartoon with synchronized sound. This was when almost all the other studios were still producing silent films.
