The search engine giant Google names its Android versions after sweet treats from Gingerbread, Jelly Bean, Kit Kat, Marshmallow and Nougat. Now the company planning to roll out its next Android version 8 by the alphabetical order called as Android O in its tradition.

According to the tweet shared by one of the senior Google executives Hiroshi Lockheimer, the next Android version would be named after the Oreo biscuits. He mentioned that the web game developed by the Oreo in partnership with Google and further hinting about the next version would indeed be Android 8.0 Oreo.

The Oreo Space Dunk Game uses Google Maps and asks the users to scan their Oreo cookie. Once it scanned, it throws the cookies into the virtual space based on your dunking speed. Previously, the company teased for its upcoming Android version N with Nutella, but they finalised the name Nougat. For this the online voting poll also launched by the Sundar Pichai to decide the version name.

At this event, it expected that the company to demonstrate about the Android version, next update to Android Wear and possibly showcase the next-gen pixel hardware.
