Google is planning to drop the name of Nexus in the upcoming Android models. The company would re-brand the Nexus handsets with all new title and a special treat on the Android operating system.

However, it is unaware that this change is a permanent or just a break from the 6- years old series. It is also not revealed about the new moniker for the rumored phones to be developed by HTC, under the names  Marlin and  Sailfish.

But reports say, both the upcoming devices may make their launch with a new brand name more connective to Google with Android 7.0 Nougat smartphone series.Earlier smartphones Nexus 6P and 5X performed better in the industry but lagged behind Samsung Galaxy S7 and OnePlus 3.

HTC is developing present year’s smartphones for Google, and the leak hints that the software of these phones differs from the earlier one seen in Nexus devices usually. Additional applications and UI tweaks in the phones will differentiate the smartphones.

A buzz is that these smartphones will come with a redesigned navigation buttons, improved search and a few applications and user interface tweaks which allow users much more flexibility and enhances customization as compared to Nexus.

Summing all the reports, we can expect more than two smartphones from Google this year. One with a new brand name which pleases the developers, and another continuing, which offers a plain Android experience.
