The government of India is going to launch ‘E-Pashu Haat’ online portal for farmers and entrepreneurs to improve dairy business. To encourage more farmers and business tycoons, the Government took this decision and the new online portal ‘E-Pashu Haat” will allow people to buy/sell bulls, frozen sperm, and seeds. Currently, there is no recognized market for livestock, and this initiative is for that only.

Senior Agriculture Ministry Official in a statement said, “If a farmer from one place wants to buy high milk producing cattle breed ‘Gir’ from another location, how can he buy? So, we have developed an online portal to help both buyers and sellers.”

This online market will help farmers not only buy or sell cows but also allowed to purchase/sell frozen semen, embryos of livestock.

The web portal named as “www.epashuhaat.gov.in” will make available all the details of each cow/bull along with photos as well as information on feed and feedstuff availability. It can also provide facilities to transport bullocks after the purchase.

The certified bull will be sold through e-market, but private bodies will also be allowed to sell/buy non-certified livestock, the official said.

It will be free registration to log in, but for any trade transaction, you need to register. The Government is looking forward to dairy business and also making things easier for farmers and trying to double the income by 2022.

The primary step is to simplify a market for livestock for the farmer’s those who are looking to take dairy sector as a supplementary business. The government has allocated Rs 825 crores of funds for this project and the online portal for Livestock is being developed as part of the Government’s National Mission on Bovine Productivity.
