At its first ever presence at CES 2017 conference, Xiaomi unveiled its new products in Las Vegas. Ahead of its debut at CES, the company unveiled modular TV, i.e., Xiaomi Mi TV 4. In addition to this, the company also introduces Mi Router HD and Mi Max smartphone.

The Mi TV 4 65 will be shipped in China later this year and didn’t announce the global release. The new television series sports a 4.9mm ultra-thin frameless metal design. Xiaomi introduced the Mi TV 4 in three screen sizes:

  • 49-inches
  • 55-inches
  • 65-inches

Xiaomi Mi TV 4 sports frameless design and with a thickness of 4.9mm. The company claims that it is 37 percent thinner than Mi Max and 30 percent thinner than iPhone 7. As per the reports, the smartTV is modular, allows the user to swap out the motherboard. Users can upgrade the other internals whenever they want.

One of the key highlights of Xiaomi Mi TV 4 is its modular functionality. Unlike other usual TVs in this television, the motherboard, buttons, connectivity ports integrated into the sound bar. It has only one port, i.e., Mi port which connects sound bar with a single cable to carry audio and video signals.

The rest of connectivity ports embedded at back of the sound bar which makes easier to access on TV unit. The sound bar consists of

  • One USB 3.0
  • One USB 2.0 port
  • Mi port
  • Ethernet port (RJ 45)
  • Analogue Audio/Video ports
  • Antenna port
  • S/PDIF port

The Xiaomi Mi TV 4 sound bar integrated with ten speakers out of which two speakers are facing upwards and remaining to the front. It runs on Android OS which offers smart recommendations. The library consists of 44 million movies, 600,000 in-depth reviews and 1.52 million comments.

Xiaomi launches Mi VR Play headset in India with a price tag of Rs 999

The Mi TV 4 65-inch variant with Dolby Atmos 3D Spherical surround speakers is priced at $2000 (approx Rs. 138,000). The same 65-inch variant without Dolby Atmos speakers comes with a price tag of $1,500 (approx Rs. 103,000). The company didn’t make any announcement about 49-inch and 55-inch TV.
