Lenovo Z2 Plus Specs, Price, Features and Quick Review

Lenovo’s new release into price segment in India with the new Lenovo Z2 Plus was launched on last Thursday. The company has launched Lenovo Vibe X3 early this year in the price segment. Now with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, the Chinese smartphone giant has made an aggressive move with a reasonable price through. The smartphone was released in China last year with a name ZUK 2.

With very promising features and good hardware specs, Lenovo Z2 Plus is available in 2 variants, one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage for 17,999 and another with 4GB RAM ,64GB storage at Rs.19,999.

The Flagship model from Lenovo will be out for sale from next week and will be exclusively available on Amazon. Z2 Plus satisfies all the looks to be a premium smartphone and the first look at a glance will inevitably remind iPhone 5s. The 5-inch screen of the phone gives a perfect in-hand experience. Roll-case and fiber design along with rounded edges ensure an excellent grip on the phone. Designed for one-handed usage, Z2 plus doesn’t have all-metal bodies and offers a fiberglass frame for sturdiness.

Lenovo Z2 plus dominates the look and steals the attention with sharp and text looks. Brightness is found a bit low and dull under sunlight, and not many of us may like it. We can only observe a Lenovo logo on the rear side of the phone and no banding on the front.

Specs Review

The curved glass panel on the back side gives a decent feel without any too much slippery. A rectangular home button is placed below the display which has also had an embedded fingerprint scanner in it. Volume rocker keys and power buttons are positioned on the right at just a reach of a thumb. The two SIM slots are also placed on the right edge without any loss of look.

On the bottom, you’ll find a speaker grille, USB Type-C port for charging and a 3.5mm audio out jack. Lenovo Z2 Plus features a “U touch 2.0” fingerprint scanner which offers some useful features like a long touch to bring up notifications, a single touch for a back, left or right swipes to get to recently used apps, a second press for the app switcher; and long press for Google Now. It also allows users to customize shortcuts as per User preferences. The gestures of the device reportedly found working well.

Lenovo claimed that the fingerprint sensor is accurate up to 99.7 percent and also mentioned about its research which could get better with use. Another convenient feature which is quite notable is that it works with sweaty and wet hands.

The Lenovo Z2 Plus runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company’s skin on the top. Google Now launcher come’s default in the Indian market and users can change the launcher if they wish to. On software font, few tweaks were made comfortable for one-handed use which includes a quick settings panel which can be accessed by swiping upwards from the bottom of the display.

Another notable feature is the U-health app which Lenovo is promoting heavily since the launch event. Apart from the usual compass sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, proximity sensor and light sensor, The Z2 Plus packs a dedicated pedometer. The idea of shipping the Z2 Plus with some good range of sensors made the device fit and enabled activity tracking without any need of additional need of the sensors.

Battery

Lenovo Z2 Plus is backed by a 3500mAh battery which also features an intelligent charge cut-off feature which manages the battery does not overcharge.

Camera

A 13-megapixel f/2.2 aperture primary camera is adjusted on the rear panel with LED flash, PDAF (phase detection autofocus), Isocell sensor, EIS (electronic image stabilization). Like any other high-end Android smartphone, Lenovo Z2 Plus also records 4K videos, full-HD time-lapses and slow motion video up to 120 fps.

The camera manages to get decent-looking shots in typical indoor lighting and found crisp with colors on the phone’s screen. Lenovo Z2 Plus aka Zuk Z2 Launching Soon in India: Specs,Features and Price

Lenovo seems all gearing up to launch a new smartphone in India. After launching the smartphone in China towards the end of May, Lenovo is going to roll out the Zuk Z2 in India.Going by the teaser, it is expected to launch the Z2 Plus, which is the Indian Version of the Zuk Z2. The company is teasing the imminent launch with the caption, “Impatience is a Virtue #FastForward”. There is also an imprint of letter ‘Z’ behind the caption.

The company has teased a new smartphone via its Facebook and Twitter handles. The device is believed to be the successor of the Lenovo ZUK Z1, which was launched in India earlier this year in May with a price tag of Rs. 13,499. Apart from the teaser, there is no word on the date of launch of the new device. But the teaser hints the device is coming soon in India.

The Lenovo Zuk Z2 is far better than Zuk Z1 in almost every sense. The new smartphone features a metal body flaunts 5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Liquid Crystal Display with 2.5D curved glass and 414ppi pixel density. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset clubbed with 4 GB of RAM. It comes with 64 GB internal storage, but there is no option to expand it using micro SD card.

Talking about the photography department, the Lenovo Zuk Z2 is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and 4K video recording capabilities.There is an 8-megapixel selfie camera at the front portion of f/2.0 aperture and 80 degrees wide angle lens that can take awesome selfies.

There is a new feature of U-Touch 2.0 fingerprint scanner which is capable of recognizing wet fingerprints. It has a battery capacity of 3,500mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Unlike Zuk Z1, the Lenovo Zuk Z2 runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 wrapped under ZUI 2.0.

Unlike ZUK Z1, the Z2 is priced which is approximately Rs. 18,400. At this price range, there are many smartphones available in them market. The Zuk Z2 smartphone will face competition from the likes of the OnePlus 2 and the Sony Xperia XA to a name few. But with the given specifications, it seems to be punching above its weight compared to Xiomi Mi 5 and OnePlus 3, which also run on Snapdragon 820.
