Forbes Magazine’s annual list released on Monday shows that the 26-year old singer and songwriter, Taylor Swift tops the list of the 100 highest-paid celebrities. At a tender age, she made this by pulling in a whopping $170 million over the past year.
The Forbes magazine said that the pop diva’s take from June 2015 to June 2016 is the highest total of her young career. Swift’s latest record doubled her old record of $80 million last year.One Direction, the English-Irish pop band, is at number 2 with $110 million.

Taylor’s huge earnings came from the “Shake It off” crooner’s star-studded “1989 World Tour” through which she smashed the Rolling Stones’ North American Touring record, earning more than $200 million last year. And she also earns from the sponsorship deals with brands which include Diet Coke, Keds and Apple.
Swift’s earnings crossed other popular musicians including Adele ($80.5 million), Madonna ($76.5 million), Rihanna ($75 million) and Bruce Springsteen ($60.5 million).
The total earnings of the Taylor Swift are almost triple what the Scottish DJ and her ex-boyfriend, Calvin Harris has earned. Calvin is ranked 21 on the Forbes list with $63 million. And Britney Spears made just $30.5 million and took 99th place in the list.
If Swift had not moved to the actor Tom Hiddleston and continued to stay with Harris,, the pair would have taken the position of the top-earning celebrity couple, which is now honoured to Beyonce and Jay Z with $107.5 million.

According to the last years Forbes’ annual list of top female earners, superstar Katty Perry took the top place with more than $135 million in 2015. This year Perry is ranked 63 with $41 million. Well, the young superstar Taylor’s earnings are barely half of the Forbes Top 100 celebs list’s haul, Floyd Mayweather, who pulled in a whopping $300 million in 2015.
“The world’s 100 highest-paid celebrities pulled in $5.1 billion pretax over the past 12 months, more than the GDP of Belize, Gambia and Bhutan combined,” stated Forbes Magazine.
Zack O’Malley Greenberg, Magazine’s Editor said live entertainment continues to be a major cash draw. “From soccer games in Spain to concerts in China, fans are willing to shell out to see big names – and this is driving the celebrity economy to ever greater heights,” Zack added in a statement.
