Bollywood Celebrities To Play Cricket With Members of Parliament

In a bid, to create awareness among the audience on tuberculosis and to eradicate the disease by 2025, the members of parliament and Bollywood celebrities come to play a cricket match at Dharamsala cricket ground.

It is a part of TB Free India Summit which is going to held in next week. It is a two-day affair, and celebrities like Suniel Shetty, Sohail Khan, Jimmy Shergill and Sonu Sood is going to compete in a T20 cricket game as Mumbai Heroes with Members of Parliament XI.

Under the initiative of Call to Action for a TB Free India, the cricket tournament is being held and this event is going to provide a platform for TB experts, scientists, patients, doctors and government representatives to suggest strategies for immediate control of TB across the country.

Some of the speakers and participants at the summit will include Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda, and members of Parliament Manoj Tiwari, Rajiv Shukla, Babul Supriyo and Nishikant Dubey along with others.

Besides this match, the actors are reportedly busy in the shooting of their upcoming films. Sohail Khan is going to do a cameo in Salman Khan’s Tube light. Bobby Deol will be seen in Shreyas Talpade’s Bollywood directorial debut Poster Boys, which is the remake of a Marathi film and Sonu Sood, reportedly, to be part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, which stars Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.The match will be telecast live by Doordarshan Sports from 4 Pm 8th April onwards from HPCA Stadium Dharamshala.

ICC Awards 2016: Full List of Award Winners

The prestigious awards of cricket ICC Awards 2016 list was released by the council just a few hours back and this time two Indian cricketers Ashwin and Virat Kohli got the best appreciation for their performance in Tests and ODIs.

All-rounder Ashwin won the ICC Cricketer of the year and the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year in 2016 ICC Awards. He is the only Indian player who got a place in ICC’s Test Team of the year. Moreover, Indian Test Captain Virat Kohli named as Captain of the ICC ODI team of the year and apart from that another two best players Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma also highlighted in that team.

Responding to his win, Spinner R. Ashwin said, “I am delighted to get a place in ICC Awards 2016. I felt proud, and it is a great honor to me. Earlier Sachin and Rahul Dravid won in ICC Cricketer of the year award, and now it seems great to follow the likes of those great players in being named as ICC Cricketer of the Year. I am euphoric to win two awards in 2016 ICC Awards and thanks to the whole team of the council to nominate him for these awards.

I would like to give this award to my family who encourages me a lot.  I would also thank ICC and especially my teammates who supported me. We had a great changeover ever since MS Dhoni became captain of the team. Ashwin won the Sir Garfield Sobers trophy after becoming the cricketer of the year. Coming to the test cricket, Kohli did two double centuries this year but however Kohli being overlooked as skipper and finally, he won the award of the captain of the ICC ODI Team 2016.

Interestingly, England Captain Alastair Cook has been named the Skipper of the Test team. It is a big boost to him after a 4-0 loss in the Test Series in England.

India Reaches 500th Test Matches Mark Against the Match with New Zealand at Kanpur Starting today

India’s Cricket Glory will be enlightened more as the ongoing test match between India and New Zealand is the mark of 500th Test Match in Indian cricket history. India stands at fourth place in the list of 500 Test matches playing nations. England, Australia, and West Indies are the other three in this hall of fame.

The Nation stands high with respect to this sport as India is not only the richest cricket board among the playing nations but also for its talented players and the game performance over all these years. Colonel CK Nayudu is the first captain of Indian cricket team which played against England in the year 1932.

Apparently, 100th test match was also played against England in the year 1967. The 200th match was played against the arch rival Pakistan during the season of 1982-83. The match against South Africa marker the fleet of the 300th match and after that the 400th match was played against West Indies.

I am pleased that over 100,000 cricket fans have already voted to pick their top-order in the ‘Dream Team’ and I expect that number to grow manifolds in coming days.”
