Snapchat Planning to Launch a Android Smartphone: Report

Photo-sharing mobile service Snapchat is reportedly planning to launch an Android smartphone that will give consumers more control over the camera features.

“A California-based marketing firm has unveiled a concept handset equip with a 360-degree camera, buttons that let users scroll through filters and a one touch capture function for easy sharing,” Daily Mail reported.

The device might also inlcude a lock screen that allows users to easily swipe for Snapchat notifications and updates, messaging, and syncing with Spectacles. It may also pack Discover screen that combines GPS and maps, Snapchat Stories, and advertisements.

Earlier this year, Snap Inc., parent company Snapchat, has made its long-awaited initial public offering (IPO) filing public, seeking to raise up to $3 billion.

Snapchat aims to derive most of its revenue from advertising where it will compete against Google, Facebook and Twitter.

Snap Inc. has recently rolled out major changes in its app that will make it easier to navigate the app with a universal search bar that’s always accessible at the top of the app. Snapchat is also introducing “Our Story”  a new global live story that any user can contribute to at any time.

BlackBerry Launched DTEK60 officially and available for $499, Check Specs, Features

BlackBerry has officially announced their latest flagship Android smartphone DTEK60. Few weeks after it was announced, it will cease in-house smartphone production. BlackBerry’s DTEK60 is the higher-end smartphone, follows the release of DTEK50 from earlier this year. DTEK50 has the better specs and features than the entry-level model.

The phone comes in 5.5-inch Quad HD screen resolution and powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor. It has the metal-framed, dual glass panel design which is considerable looks good than the DTEK50’s utilitarian finish. The dimensions of the phone are 153.9 x 75.4 x 7 mm and weighs about 165grams.

The phone is pre-installed and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). Blackberry says it is working with Google on the upgrade for Nougat.

Coming to the camera segment, the primary camera comes with 21-megapixel with the dual-tone LED Flash. 4K Video recording is available on this phone. It supports Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). The front facing camera comes with 8-megapixel along with the LED flash.

This smartphone comes with 3000 mAh battery supporting Quick Charge 3.0 with the USB Type-C port. It has the rear mounted finger print scanner.

Blackberry is pitching this device as more secure than other Android phone and special thanks to its secure bootloader, Hardware Root of Trust, quick updates for security patches and DTEK app. It also included with the BlackBerry’s suite of productivity apps such as Hub, Calendar, and keyboard.

Lenovo seems all gearing up to launch a new smartphone in India. After launching the smartphone in China towards the end of May, Lenovo is going to roll out the Zuk Z2 in India.Going by the teaser, it is expected to launch the Z2 Plus, which is the Indian Version of the Zuk Z2. The company is teasing the imminent launch with the caption, “Impatience is a Virtue #FastForward”. There is also an imprint of letter ‘Z’ behind the caption.

The company has teased a new smartphone via its Facebook and Twitter handles. The device is believed to be the successor of the Lenovo ZUK Z1, which was launched in India earlier this year in May with a price tag of Rs. 13,499. Apart from the teaser, there is no word on the date of launch of the new device. But the teaser hints the device is coming soon in India.

Unlike ZUK Z1, the Z2 is priced which is approximately Rs. 18,400. At this price range, there are many smartphones available in them market. The Zuk Z2 smartphone will face competition from the likes of the OnePlus 2 and the Sony Xperia XA to a name few. But with the given specifications, it seems to be punching above its weight compared to Xiomi Mi 5 and OnePlus 3, which also run on Snapdragon 820.

The Chinese electronics manufacturer, Xiaomi after the release of MI Note in the year 2015, the company is all set to announce five new smartphones in the latter half of 2016. Among five new smart devices, Redmi Pro will be the first device to be officially launched on 27th July 2016. The first smartphone from the company which features a dual rear camera and the fingerprint scanner is most expensive in the product line.
According to the reports it has been announced that Xiaomi is planning to unveil its new Xiaomi Mi Note 2 in the month of August, which might feature AMOLED Curved Display. The company will launch the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 smartphone in China. Mi Note 2 will be the first smartphone to feature the Samsung-made AMOLED display and dual rear camera which would mostly look like the recently released Samsung Galaxy Edge S7.
